201 Hard Landing
Nikita is taken prisoner by Freedom League and escapes just in time to save Michael during a mission. This way he finds out she is alive. After a night of passion they share, they find a way to bring her back to Section, but things between them are not what she expects.

202 Spec Ops
Nikita is assigned a new trainer, Jurgen, Michael's former mentor. A Freedom League operative is captured and Michael makes sure he does not tell that Nikita has not been a prisoner for as long as they think. Tension builds up between Nikita and Jurgen who makes her admit the truth only to protect her secret from Operations and Madeline.

203 Third Person
Friendship develops between Nikita and Jurgen, strongly disapproved by Michael who sees him as a danger to them. After a mission gone wrong, Michael and Jurgen fight in the White Room, but Michael saves Jurgen's life in a second mission, creating more confusion about his motives and goals.

204 Approaching Zero
Jurgen and Nikita start dating, and Michael uses Nikita to find the codes he needs to break into Jurgen's house and neutralize compromising information that Jurgen has been holding about Section. Jurgen is now forced to obey Section's rules like everyone else, which he finds unbearable. He ends his life in a suicide mission, to Michael and Nikita's regret.

205 New Regime

An operative loses his temper and shoots Operations during a briefing. As he struggles for life, Egran Petrosian (Rescue) takes his place temporarily as commander of Section One. Petrosian promotes Nikita as second in command and promises her a life, but she must betray her friends to deserve it. When Petrosian shows his real motives and attempts to kill Operations, Nikita chooses to help Madeline against him.

206 Mandatory Refusal

A mission goes wrong and Michael is forced to go into mandatory refusal, refusing all communication until the mission is complete. To further complicate things, Madeline is captured and Operations must stop Michael to rescue her. Nikita disobeys orders and saves both the mission and Madeline.

207 Half Life
Michael's past catches up with him as Rene Dian resurfaces. He is the leader of "L'Heure Sanguine", terrorist organization that Michael once belonged to. Michael tries to protect him up to a point, but betrays him in the end and allows the organization to be destroyed.

208 Darkness Visible
Michael and Nikita are strayed in a war-torn country of the Balkans where they get help from two children lost from their parents. Nikita becomes concerned with the children's fate and Michael reluctantly agrees to help them get out of the country.

209 Open Heart
A bomb placed by Red Cell into someone's body threatens an unknown target. Section sends Nikita on a mission to prison where she must befriend a terrorist woman, Jenna Vogler, the only lead to the target. Jenna escapes with Nikita but as it turns out, she is herself the human bomb and the target is Section.

210 First Mission
A personnel shortage makes it necessary for Nikita to be in charge of her first mission as profiler and leader. As she puts together her team, she encounters unusual resistance from Vizcano who turns out to be in love with Michael. Nikita wins her over only to see her put into abeyance by Michael and killed during the mission.

211 Psychic Pilgrim
Nikita and Michael pose as a suburban married couple and her mission profile depicts her as a psychic. The target is Armel, a terrorist who lost a son and wants Nikita to get in contact with him. The boy was in fact kidnapped by Section and Nikita allows Armel to see him before he dies. Madeline has a last encounter with her dying mother.

212 Soul Sacrifice
Nikita befriends Terry, a Section operative, but some problems during a mission reveal that Terry is pregnant. In an attempt to protect her child from Section, Terry tries to escape by betraying Michael, but fails. Introducing Mick Schtoppel.

213 Not Was
Michael is captured by Orlando Perez from Red Cell during a mission and becomes amnesic as a result of the interrogation. After Nikita rescues him, she enlists Walter's help to bring his memory back. In the meantime, Michael's real personality and feelings for Nikita are revealed for a short time.

214 Double Date
David Fanning (Obsessed), who is now a Section operative, joins Michael and Nikita for a mission. However, his real agenda is to get his wife back. He takes Nikita prisoner, forcing Michael to find Lisa and convince her to trust him again. Michael delivers Lisa to her husband but not before giving her the means to kill him and thus be free of him for good.

215 Fuzzy Logic
Section must break a code used by a terrorist group to tunnel into Department of Defense satellites and kidnap a young genius, Greg Hillinger, to do the task. Despite his arrogant attitude, Greg is impressed with Section's computing power and decides to become an operative. After Nikita lets him see the reverse of the medal, Greg understands what he got into but it's too late, and his attempt to go back home fails.

216 Old Habits
Nikita must collaborate with an informant who turns out to be a serial killer responsible of the death of several prostitutes. Nikita is protecting someone from him, but Section finds a way to give him the girl in exchange for information. Michael denies their implication. Nikita finds a way to get him killed in turn and also lies about it.

217 Inside Out
A deadly virus breaks into Section creating a "segmentation condition" where the operatives are isolated until the contamination is controlled. Operations shows his feelings for Madeline as he breaks out of confinement to join her. Birkoff shows real strength in dealing with the situation despite having been dumped by Gail recently. Michael and Nikita find the cure outside the Section and choose not to escape and letting everyone else die.

218 Off Profile
A new Section profiler, Andrea, challenges Michael during a mission. Michael seduces her but becomes very distant the next day, giving the excuse that he was only verifying if she was leaking intel to Red Cell. Hurt and furious, Andrea attempts to kill him. After she is canceled, Operations admits to Nikita that Michael's real mission had been to prove Andrea's emotional instability.

219 Last Night
A terrorist leader responsible for several attacks turns out to be an AI program in a very advanced computer of unknown source. While the computer is being studied in Section, the programs finds a way through the system and organizes more attacks. Operations convinces Madeline to join him in the Tower, which she considers a mistake afterwards. Nikita goes back to a mission site to look for a possibly injured girl and is briefly being detained by her family.

220 In Between
During a mission, a terrorist reveals himself to Nikita as Charles Sand, Madeline's husband presumed dead for 10 years. Birkoff finds out that Operations is responsible for his disappearance. Nikita is torn between Madeline who wants Charles brought back alive, and Operations who orders him killed. Her dilemma is solved as Madeline shows up at the mission site and kills her husband after hugging him one last time.

221 Adrian's Garden
Nikita's friend Karla turns out to be working with the mystery twins that have made brief appearances in several episodes. Together they kidnap her and introduce her to Adrian, the mastermind of the operation. Former commander of Section One, currently retired, she is the only person Madeline has ever been afraid of. Adrian enlists Nikita's help to bring down Operations and save the world.

222 End Game
With Adrian's help, Nikita breaks into a high level of Section and steals Gemstone, a file incriminating Operations. She and Adrian are intercepted as they try to reach someone who could use the Gemstone to bring down Section. Instead of killing Nikita, Operations congratulates her for a job well done, as she had been working for him all along. Just when the game seems over, Nikita forces Operations to defend Section and explain his actions. In the end she decides in his favor, but not before posing a real threat which she may have to pay for.
