TEASER - NIKITA'S APARTMENT
We see Carla alone in Nikita's apartment loading a gun. She walks
over, pours herself a glass of wine. Nikita comes home.
Nikita: Hey.
Carla: Hey. Where you been the
past couple days?
Nikita: It's a long story.
Carla: I forgot, I'm not supposed
to ask that.
Nikita: Don't worry about it.
Carla: How about a glass of wine?
Nikita: Sure. How are you holding
up?
Carla: Ok, I guess, sort of. It's
all so sudden you know? It's like when he hit me the person I loved
died.
Nikita: Carla, I'm sorry I haven't
been here for you, but I'm here now, and you can stay for as long as
you like.
Carla: Thanks. You're a good
friend.
The phone rings. Carla looks worried.
Carla: Do you have to get that?
Nikita walks over to the phone and answers it.
Nikita: Yeah. Hello?
There is nothing on the other end.
Carla: Who is that?
Nikita: They hung up.
Carla: So, um you still seeing
that guy that was coming around here, whats his name?
Nikita: Michael?
Carla: Yeah what's going on with
him?
Nikita: Nothing.
Carla: Hmm that's too bad, he was
cute.
There's a knock at the door. Nikita goes to this monitor screen right
next to the door and turns it on. We see that Steven is standing
outside.
Nikita: It's Steven
Carla: Steven?
Nikita: Shall I send him away?
Carla: Yeah
She opens the door
Steven: Hi, is Carla here?
Nikita: I don't think she wants to
see you.
She goes to close the door on his face, but he pushes it back
open.
Steven: I bet she does.
Carla: (In the background)
It's ok Nikita, (We hear a gun being cocked)
Nikita turns around to see Carla holding a gun to her.
Carla: I changed my mind. Sorry,
Nik.
Steven sticks something in Nikita's arm. She winces, then falls to
the ground. Carla pulls out her cell phone and tells whomever is on
the other end.
Carla: We're on our way.
Nikita is out cold.
ACT ONE
Madeline and Operations having a meal in the special room that they
eat in. (One quick note: Forget anything you thought
Madeline did that was cold, you are about to be blown away. I almost
got a chill just from watching this scene.)
Operations: I see Birkoff's intel
on Central Africa isn't very saturated.
Madeline: Yes, I scheduled a
pre-op for later this morning.
Operations: That soon?
Madeline: I want to make this
window, Kadafi's people won't be exposed again for several weeks.
Operations: Yes, it would be nice
to put this to rest once and for all. Who should we give it to?
Madeline: Michael.
Operations: Fine. Is there a
chance we could have dinner tonight?
Madeline: What for?
Operations: You confuse me
Madeline. If you don't want to enjoy my company, then why did you
agree to open things up again?
Madeline: I didn't open anything
up, I slept with you. There's a difference. (She is so stone-faced
through this entire conversation.)
Operations: Ok, then why did you
sleep with me?
Madeline: Because you wanted
it.
Operations: And you didn't?
Madeline: That's irrelevant. The
foreplay was becoming a distraction to both of us. It was affecting
your work and decisions, and in turn affecting mine.
Operations: That's especially cold
Madeline, even for you. I was wondering if this has something to do
with Charles.
Madeline: What, that you allowed
me to believe that my husband had been dead for the past nine years?
Operations: Yes, you could bear
some ill-will over that.
Madeline: Not at all.
Operations: You didn't have to
kill him you know.
Madeline: Yes I did.
Operations: I'll see you at the
briefing.
He gets up to leave.
Madeline: What we had, has been
over for years, the other night doesn't change a thing. I think you
need to face that.
He leaves not looking particularly happy.
MICHAEL'S OFFICE
He is at his desk with the phone up to his ear. No one is
answering. Cutting back and forth from Nikita's phone ringing to him
on the phone waiting for an answer. Now cutting back and forth to
Nikita knocked out on a bed in a large, well decorated room, and to
Michael searching through her apartment. There are signs of a struggle
at her apartment. Nikita is slowly waking up to find herself only in
her undies and shackled at the ankles. She staggers to the window and
looks outside. She sees an older woman pruning in a garden.
SYSTEMS
Michael is approaching Birkoff at his work station.
Birkoff: Madeline's waiting for
you in Systems.
Michael: I need the passwords for
the clock frequencies.
Birkoff: Why?
Michael: We've lost an
operative.
Birkoff: Lost an operative? Who?
Michael: Nikita
Back to where Nikita is being held.
Carla walks in her room with a business suit on. She looks very much
not like Carla. Her hair is pinned back, and she doesn't have the
dingy girl appearance anymore.
Nikita: Who are you?
Carla: That's not important, I'm
here to get you ready.
Nikita: Ready? Ready for what?
Carla: You're going to meet
someone, I need to make sure you're coherent.
Nikita: So, what are you a
terrorist?
Carla: No.
Nikita: You pretended to be my
friend for two years, very good.
Carla: You seem to be
clear-headed. I'll send someone up in five minutes. Freshen up.
Carla leaves.
Nikita: Freshen up?
SYSTEMS
Birkoff: Ok here we go.
They are looking at a computer screen with a global map on it.
Michael: Southern Spain.
Birkoff: Looks like a couple
colonies outside the city.
Michael: Do we have anyone in that
area?
Birkoff: I've got two planted
teams in Valencia.
Michael: Patch me in.
Birkoff: Hang on.
He hands Michael a com. unit.
Birkoff: Olin?
Olin: Yeah Birkoff I'm here.
Birkoff: Stand-by.
Michael: Olin, your priority's
been downgraded.
Olin: Do you want me to come in?
Michael: No, I'm attaching an
address. I'll give you instructions on the way.
Birkoff: Michael, something's
happening. Now it's telling me she's not in Spain.
Michael: What do you mean?
Birkoff: The clock's now reading
Korea, Inchon. Wait a minute, Forget it. The signals all over the
place. She must have tampered with the clock.
Michael: How? She doesn't even
know she has one.
Back to where Nikita is. It appears to be a very large Villa. She is
looking in a mirror at her back. She sees some stitches where she can
tell something was removed. Adrian enters. She is an attractive older
woman with an English accent. She sees Nikita looking at her
back.
Adrian: Nothing to be alarmed at
dear. The Section placed a Lithium crystal inside you for
tracking. It's probably because you were outside the rim for those six
months. It's astonishing what they can do without your knowledge. The
operative is to assume that any information revealed under
interrogation, no matter how insignificant, will result in the loss of
innocent life. Is it still worded that way?
Nikita looks completely stunned.
Adrian: That's fine dear. A
response isn't necessary. I do need something from you, but I need
your compliance. And at this point, no doubt, you would inveigh
against any requests.
Nikita: Why am I here?
Adrian: It's an orientation. My
name is Adrian. (She goes to shake her hand, but realizes that she
still has her pruning gloves on.) I've just been planting a
tree-pin, but it probably won't survive these winds, but the flowers
are so beautiful I thought it worthwhile to challenge the odds
Nikita: Good luck
(sarcastic)
Adrian: What are your hobbies
Nikita? We've been watching you for sometime now, and haven't been
able to detect much of an inner-life.
Nikita: I'm sorry. Who are you?
Adrian: Someone unlike anyone
you've ever met. (She goes back to arranging some flowers in a
vase) I gather Madeline has acquired my fascination with
horticulture? When you go back, Section won't even know you've been
gone. Michael will see to that.
Nikita: Why would he do that?
Adrian: He loves you, of
course. But, you will need to give him a plausible scenario. So, two
members of L'Heure Sanguine (The group that Rene Dion started with
Michael) former colleagues of Michael, sought revenge for the
death of Rene Dion. They grabbed you inside your apartment and took
you to Vienna where you overcame them.
Nikita: What is this all about?
Adrian: What it's always been
about. A small matter of saving the world. On your next mission,
something will happen that will convince you of the gravity of all
this.
She hands her a little box. It almost looks like a jewelry box for a
pair of earrings.
Adrian: Oh, one last thing,
Anything you might want to say to Michael, apart from the story I've
just given you, would endanger his life.
Adrian leaves.
Nikita opens the box to find only a golden bullet.
We are next at the basement of Section. I'm guessing it's the basement
because it's dark and abandoned and Michael says something about going
upstairs to Section. We see a man standing at the end of the darkened
hall. Nikita walks in from the left and turns down towards the
man.
Nikita: Michael, why are we
meeting here?
He walks towards her and gets close to her face while he talks to
her.
Michael: Tell me again what
happened.
Nikita: I told you everything I
remembered. They wanted to get to you, and they mentioned Rene Dion's
death. It sounded like revenge.
Michael: Are you sure there's
nothing more?
Nikita: I'm sure.
Michael: It's hard to believe the
Rene had friends that could have tracked either of us down.
Nikita: Yeah, obviously he
did. So, did you tell anyone?
Michael: No one needs to
know.
Nikita: That's fine with me. Is
everything all right?
Michael: Yes. Come upstairs we
have to ready the mission.
He leaves.
MADELINE'S OFFICE
Madeline's Office door opens to show us Operations standing there with
scrawny young guy. Operations leads him in.
Operations: You know Ray Leads
from Oversight.
Madeline: Of course, Ray how are
things at the Department?
Ray: Actually I've left.
Operations: As of today, he's
going to be working with us.
Madeline: Really? Doing what?
Ray: Executive Strategist.
Operations: He's not here to take
your job, he's here to learn it.
Madeline: Why?
Operations: George has been
pressuring me for months to have back-ups in place. In practical terms
it will help all of us lighten our work loads.
Madeline: Good, then I suggest you
get started. Five recruits have just been brought in they need to be
evaluated. There's a debrief in progress on level 3, and there are two
missions going out today that need to be profiled. I'll handle Central
Africa, I'm already up to speed on it.
Operations: I was going to take
him to Systems today to get oriented.
Madeline: Fine, if you'd rather
have him do that.
Ray: I don't want to get in the
middle of any politics here.
Madeline: All we do here is
politics, if you don't want to get in the middle of that, then I
suggest you go back to the department.
Operations: Ok, maybe we can do
Systems later this week.
Operations leaves.
BRIEFING
Operations, Michael, Birkoff, Walter, and new guy Ray are all
there.
Operations: At the beginning of
this century, Central Africa has been the theater for several covert
wars engaged in by various Western Interests. Currently, secret cells
inside one of the French Ministries are preparing retaliations in
areas where they recently lost influence. This man here, Maurice
Sauvage, (little screen pops up) is leading the raids, we have
been asked to take him and his encampment out.
Michael: This looks like a
straight military operation, why are we involved?
Operations: Too much static, and
the government hasn't been able to take him.
Birkoff: An advanced team is
standing by in Rwanda collecting data for the profile, which should be
coming in this afternoon.
Operations: We're on stand-by till
we go out.
MISSION
They unload in front of a building.
Nikita: Wait.
Michael: What is it?
Nikita: Are you sure there's no
other variables?
Michael: Why?
Nikita: No reason, I'm just being
careful.
Michael: Everything's covered, get
to your position.
Michael and the rest of the team head toward the building. Nikita gets
in position on top of the van with a sniper gun.
Birkoff: Tell me your time.
Michael: Two minutes, ten
seconds.
Birkoff: Looks like there's six
bodies in there. I can't tell which one's Sauvage. Better force them
all.
Michael: Going to second mark.
Michael and the team climb up on the roof.
Michael: Flush them.
They put in canisters of a gas in the air ducts. Men come running
out. Nikita shoots the third one with a tranquilizer.
Michael: Sauvage is down. Load the
train. Clean the area.
The other operatives shoot everyone else coming out of the
building. Michael grabs Sauvage and heads toward the van with the rest
of the team.
Michael: Go back to first
mark.
Operative: Moving to first
mark.
Nikita (at the van) hears a plane overhead. All of the sudden,
the operatives around Michael are shot and on the ground. Michael
kneels on the ground with Sauvage as covering, but the bullets miss
him completely.
Operations: What's going on?
Birkoff: Someone's shooting at
us.
Operations: Sauvage's people?
Operations: No, they've been
contained.
The shooting stops and Michael reaches the van untouched.
VAN ACCESS
Michael and Nikita walk in from the mission with Sauvage.
Michael: Take him to
containment.
Operations talks from the catwalk up above.
Operations: Where's our losses?
Michael: In the van.
Operations: What happened?
Michael: Shots came from
above.
Operations: A building?
Nikita: A plane.
Operations: Did you see it?
Nikita: No, I heard it.
Operations: We're lucky the entire
team wasn't lost.
Michael: It wasn't luck. Rounds
were grounded within centimeters of me, whoever did this could have
killed me if they wanted to.
Operations: Ok, begin with
Sauvage, then let's start putting this thing together.
MUNITIONS
Nikita walks over to Walter.
Nikita: Hey Walter.
Walter: Hi Sugar (pause) I
really hate it when we lose ops.
Nikita: Yeah pretty scary.
Walter: You Ok?
Nikita: Yeah... I don't think
Sauvage did this.
Walter: Yeah. Analysis shows it
doesn't have his signature.
Nikita: What did it show?
Walter: Firstly, the ammo's way
off. Also, we pulled audio on the aircraft and it doesn't match
anything Sauvage could put his hands on.
Nikita: Tell me about the ammo?
Walter: It's a very strange
thing. I haven't seen rounds like that in years. We used to use them
here. Used mostly for distance.
Nikita picks up a slug from the scene and looks it over.
Walter: It's gold.
Nikita: Tell me about Adrian.
Walter: What?
Nikita: You know, Adrian. English,
mid-60's.
Walter: Who told you about her?
Nikita: Is she in the community?
Walter: Adrian founded this
place. She's the mother of Section One.
Nikita: Is she alive?
Walter: I don't know, if she is
she's invisible. Adrian's the only one who ever got away from
here.
Nikita: What was she like?
Walter: Let's just say that Adrian
is the only person Madeline has every been afraid of.
Nikita: Hm. So she chose
Operations.
Walter: Chose him? No, Operations
took control himself. And it was a bitter struggle. It left Operations
with a whole lot of enemies and a whole lot of power.
Nikita: And her?
Walter: She got what we all
want... freedom.
NIKITA'S APARTMENT
She comes in and is about to take her coat off, when Goatee man 1 and
2 approach her.
Steven: Keep your coat on. Let's
go.
She leaves with both of them.
ADRIAN'S VILLA
She is sitting smoking a pipe, waiting for Nikita. Nikita comes
in.
Adrian: Sit down, please.
Nikita: Why don't you just quit
with the English gentility and tell me what you want from me?
Adrian: Together my dear, you and
I are going to destroy Section One.
She picks up the phone.
Adrian: Marcum, could you bring us
some tea and scones please.
She hangs up.
The scene changes to them walking outside near her garden. She begins
explaining how the Sections came to be. (Yes that is plural)
Adrian: It happened almost by
accident. After the engagement in Korea, in the early fifties, there
were several factions in the west who were frustrated by the failures
of communism in Asia. They conspired to take down the Capitalistic
Regimes they saw as impeding their ideology. They targeted civilian
populations in metropolitan areas, it was the aborted birth of modern
terrorism. The CIA, MI5, the Mosad, Nato, and a handful of others
worked together to prevent the calamity. (points to a plant)
This is flowering so late this year. It was this federation that gave
me the idea to start the Sections.
Nikita: Sections?
Adrian: The others don't
matter. Section Ones is where the power resides.
Nikita: And what did you do
exactly?
Adrian: I analyzed intelligence,
utilized game theories, produced scenarios. I performed the function
that today would be served by a Cray super computer.
Nikita: How did you...?
Adrian stops her. She is looking up toward the sky. She grabs her
phone immediately and pushes a button.
Adrian: Steven, why do I hear
aircraft?
Steven: It's just a commercial
airliner that's been rerouted for weather.
Adrian: This is confirmed?
Steven: Yes, Mam.
Adrian: You can't be to
careful.
She hangs up the phone and starts walking again.
Nikita: You said you wanted to
destroy Section. Why?
Adrian: I'm certain you've heard
many times the rhetoric of sacrifice for the greater good. It may have
swayed your guilt over killing all those people.
Nikita: Actually it hasn't.
Adrian: Of course my dear. You're
different aren't you? That's one of the reasons you were chosen.
Nikita: Chosen? To do what?
Adrian: Know your history my dear,
it's important. When Operations took over, the original ideals of the
Section were being preserved. Then, gradually, almost imperceptively,
things were being changed. Section began to serve itself.
Nikita: I don't understand. What
is there to serve?
Adrian: When you have that kind of
power, the kind of capability the Section wields, you're not content
to do the bidding of faceless bureaucrats, at least Operations
isn't.
Nikita: What would he gain?
Adrian: He wanted to draw the map
of the world in his own image. He already owns the heads of state of
many Eastern and Middle Eastern countries. The thing he doesn't have
is critical mass, and when he has that, he can do what he wants.
Nikita: What would he do?
Adrian: That doesn't matter. No
one man should be able to weald that kind of influence.
Nikita: What do you want me to do?
Adrian: I need someone on the
inside. Someone to help me stop Operations.
THE WHITE ROOM
Ray is interrogating Sauvage. Madeline is watching from the two-sided
mirror. Operations joins her.
Sauvage: I'm not afraid to
die.
Ray: You're not going to die. I
want every detail of your supply lines. Country of origin, names of
prevairs, destinations.
Sauvage: I have no idea what
you're talking about.
Ray: You're a very handsome
man. You take pride in your appearance. Fresh manicure, well groomed,
you're trim, well appointed.
Sauvage: Is that why I'm here? To
give you fashion tips?
Ray pulls out a small box and removes something from it. He has his
back to Sauvage. He whips around very fast and cuts Sauvage's face on
his left cheek. He gives him a handkerchief and releases one of his
hands so that he can put pressure on it.
Ray: We have someone here who can
close that up without leaving much of a scar. That is the last warning
you will get. You will give me the information I have requested or I
will disfigure your face beyond the repair of even the most skilled
plastic surgeon.
Sauvage begins speaking.
Operations: He's good.
Madeline says nothing. Operations leaves.
SYSTEMS
Nikita comes in to Birkoff's work area.
Nikita: Hey Birkoff.
Birkoff: Busy.
Nikita: I need the access codes to
level 2.
Birkoff: You're not cleared for
that.
We now see that Adrian is on a head set conversing and coaching
Nikita.
Adrian: Tell him check the
Vicker's Lock File.
Nikita: Check the Vicker's Lock
File.
Birkoff: When did that happen?
Adrian: Tell him that Shane and
Esler are tied up...
Nikita: In South America. Madeline
upgraded me this morning.
She hands him a panel. He attaches something to it and gives it back
to her.
Nikita: Thanks Birkoff.
She leaves. She walks down a hall to an elevator.
Nikita: I'm in the elevator.
Adrian: Enter this code
22171.
She does and the elevator starts to move. Note that the keypad has
keys up to 29. The elevator stops after a few floors.
Nikita: It stopped on 7.
Adrian: Use your pad. There's a
port on the right. Try it now.
The elevator begins to move again.
Nikita: I'm here.
Adrian: You're in an undocumented
area, there shouldn't be anyone there.
Nikita: There isn't.
Adrian: Turn right and start
walking.
Nikita: What's stored here?
Adrian: Each segment is a
mission. When you see one that's lit, it means it's active.
SYSTEMS
Michael walks over to Birkoff.
Michael: I just saw you talking to
Nikita. Why is she here?
Birkoff: She needed something on
level 2.
Michael: Level 2?
Birkoff: Yeah, she had
clearance.
LEVEL 2 HALLWAY
Adrian: Can you see the end of
it?
Nikita: Yes, it's about 15m
away.
Adrian: Then start looking at the
lit panels. Find K314.
Nikita: Got it.
Adrian: Good. Open it.
Nikita: How?
Adrian: There's a handle at the
bottom, it need to roll up. (Nikita pushes the button on the
handle; a cover opens). There should be a dock for your panel
about waist high, can you see it?
Nikita: Yes.
Adrian: Plug in your panel.
Nikita inserts her panel into an opening.
Nikita: Now what?
Adrian: Nothing. Just wait.
Adrian's computer is connected to Nikita's panel and shows Downloading
Directory. The download is complete.
Adrian: Excellent. All right,
dear, all done. Fold it up and go.
Nikita closes it up and starts to head out. She pushes the elevator
button and the door opens. But, behind that door is Michael. Nikita
looked like she could have peed her pants at that moment.
Michael: Hi.
Nikita: Hi.
Michael: What are you doing here?
How did you get access to this level?
Nikita: I had clearance.
Michael: From whom?
Adrian: You can't tell him
that. Just say. (She's still coaching on the head set)
Nikita: I can't tell you
that.
Michael: Why not?
Adrian: Tell him your
tracing...
Nikita: A linkage vector.
Michael: For whom?
Nikita: Section 4, Northern
Europe.
Michael: Why would they use you?
Nikita: That's all I can tell
you.
She gets off the elevator.
Nikita: If you want to know more,
you could ask Operations, If you do, he'd want to know what you were
doing down there.
Michael: Which bureau op?
Adrian: Don't answer Nikita he
knows you can't tell him that.
Nikita just walks away.
BRIEFING
Operations, Ray, Michael, Birkoff, and some operative.
Operations: One of South America's
most powerful leaders, president Ricardo Aru is stepping down next
month. This man here Renzo Marin (Little screen pops up), is to
succeed him. The opposing parties see Marin as a puppet of the
West. They want to stop his succession.
Ray: We've uncovered an
assassination plot. Marin will be making his first public appearance
at the palace tomorrow.
Operations: Birkoff has the
appropriate intel to configure a counter against the attempt on
Marin's life. Leads will be managing the operations in place of
Madeline and will supply technical oversight. He's taking full
responsibility for this mission. Michael will be taking four teams
in. Any questions? Let's get started.
ADRIAN'S GARDEN
Carla is waiting with Adrian. Nikita enters. Carla leaves.
Adrian: I commend you. We've
gotten off to an excellent start.
Nikita: No, I can't do this
anymore.
Adrian: But you must.
Nikita: Look I got you the
information you wanted so that you wouldn't hurt Michael. Now leave me
out of the rest, please.
Adrian: The mission you've just
been called in for, the protection of Renzo Marin, will fail. Marin
will die.
Nikita: Why? Are you going to kill
him?
Adrian: No, Section will. The
mission is a cover. Operations couldn't buy Marin's allegiance, so
he's going to have him killed.
Nikita: Why would he bother going
through the motion of pretending to intervene?
Adrian: Oversight ordered the
intervention. Operations will take some of the flack for the failure,
but it won't matter, he'll get what he wants.
Nikita: Which is what?
Adrian: The next in line to
succeed the president is owned by Operations. The country is an
important part of the puzzle for him.
Nikita: I don't believe you.
Adrian: No, I don't suppose you
would. After all the only coping mechanisms you have intact is that
Section protects the innocent. If you didn't believe that you'd have
been gone long ago. One way or another.
Nikita: Fine, whatever. You've got
what you want. Bring the whole thing down. I really don't care.
She turns to leave.
Adrian: I can't. Only you
can.
Nikita: This is your show, not
mine
Adrian: On the contrary, from this
point on, nothing can happen without you. I know you have grave doubts
about all this. And obviously I cannot force you to do anything don't
want to do. We'll speak after the mission. You'll tell me then what
you've decided.
Adrian leaves.
MISSION
A group of limousines are headed to what looks to be an embassy or
some other important building. Nikita is at Section with Birkoff and
Ray. Mikey is in a second floor window with a sniper gun. The cars all
stop at the bottom of a flight of stairs leading up to the embassy's
door. There are people everywhere cheering and waiting.
Birkoff: Teams one and three move
to your next mark.
Nikita: Marin's pulling up to the
palace.
Birkoff: On approach open up the
east, west.
Nikita: Should we keep those
sights protected.
Birkoff: Our intel says nothings
coming up that way.
Nikita: Our intel's two hours old
Birkoff.
Nikita goes over to a computer and starts double checking every point
for the area.
Michael: We're waiting Birkoff,
what's going on?
Birkoff: Hold Michael, we need to
check something out.
Ray: What's the problem?
Birkoff: Nothing, Nikita's
refreshing the exposure map.
Nikita: Birkoff...
Birkoff: Good catch. Ok, west team
hold back. Hold your previous positions.
Nikita: He's pulling up front, we
just need to get him up the stairs and then we're secure.
Birkoff: Michael, status.
Michael: 150 to 220 clean. Still
scanning.
Michael looks at one of the windows and sees a sniper.
Michael: I've got something.
Birkoff: Where?
Michael: Building D third
floor.
Birkoff: You're right Michael,
he's hot.
Nikita: Not yet, we're not cleared
yet, keep him sealed.
Michael shoots the sniper.
Birkoff: Ok, send him up.
The door opens and a man steps out.
Nikita: Are you sure we've covered
everything.
Birkoff: What do you mean?
Nikita: I don't know, I've just
got a feeling that we're missing something.
Ray: We don't operate on
hunches. Stick to the profile.
Operations: (From the
Perch) What's going on down there?
Ray: We took out a
shooter. Marin's ready to go up.
Operations: Good, get it
done.
Ray: Send him up
Nikita: Team one go.
The man who is out of the limo opens the door to the other limo and
Marin goes to step out. All of the sudden, both limos explode.
Ray: What happened?
Birkoff: I don't know. Is Marin
clear?
Michael: No.
Birkoff: Send containment in
now. Lock up the perimeter. Make sure every circuit is recording.
TAG - MADELINES OFFICE
Madeline is at her desk. Operations comes in.
Madeline: How did it go?
Operations: Not well. Oversight's
not going to let this one go. Marin was important to them. They're
going to make us pay.
Madeline: How?
Operations: They're resending
Leads.
Madeline: Are they going to take
him back?
Operations: No. (i.e. he's
going to be canceled)
Madeline: If you hadn't brought in
Leads, I'd be the one facing cancellation right now. Instead it's
him.
Operations: Yes, that's true.
Madeline: I thought you did it out
of hurt feelings. But, it had nothing to do with that did it?
Operations: You were right when
