TEASER
The episode starts with Bright Star digging landmines. Among the men
digging for landmines is a mole working for Section, Omar. Operations
and Birkoff are watching this from the hidden camera in the mole's
glasses.
Halaire: (to the digging
man) Gently!
Operations: Can you get a better
view?
Birkoff: Omar, a meter to your
left.
Halaire: Be careful where you
step, you might kill us all.
Walter comes to the scene.
Walter: Landmines?
Birkoff: In the Middle East
they're everywhere. Just walk into a field and help yourself.
Halaire: (looking at Omar)
We'll use these to strike terror into the heart of our enemies. A man
who is willing to die for his cause cannot be stopped. Don't you agree
my friend?
Omar: Of course.
Halaire: But first we must kill
all the frauds, all the impostors, all the double agents. You
understand.
He points the gun at Omar and shoots him, with Section watching.
Operations: Excellent. So far,
everything's going as planned.
BRIEFING
Operations: Halaire's group is
called Bright Star. Their goal is to destroy all symbols of modern
decadence. Their weapon of choice, suicide bombings. The bombs are
constructed from landmines, so the materials can't be traced. Last
night, we sacrificed a mole to protect a more important contact,
Gregory Formitz. A dealer in forged documents. Passports, visas, press
credentials. He supplies Bright Star with fake IDs. If we control
Formitz, we have a chance to stop Bright Star. We've been voted on
this a little late, so we have to play catch up. We need any intel we
can get. Michael, it's all yours.
Michael: (to Nikita) You
will be our liaison with Formitz. Madeline has prepared a
psych. profile. You may find it useful.
MADELINE'S OFFICE
Madeline and Nikita are watching Formitz' profile.
Madeline: Formitz is from a
wealthy family. Intelligent, well educated. He ranked first in his
class in medical school.
Nikita: Medical school.
Madeline: Dropped out three days
before graduation.
Nikita: Because?
Madeline: He was a younger son, a
rebel. He wanted to cause his family a maximum amount of
disappointment.
Nikita: Did it work?
Madeline: Yes, they never spoke to
him again. His alliance with terrorists arose partly as a way to
continue to rebel, partly because danger appeals to him.
Nikita: So, betraying Bright Star
to us makes it even more dangerous?
Madeline: Exactly.
Nikita: So, betraying us to Bright
Star in return might up the anti even further.
Madeline: Very good. Our analysis
indicates that there's little chance of that happening soon, but as
times goes on the chance will increase. So be alert.
SYSTEMS
Walter walks up to Birkoff with Belinda.
Walter: Birkoff, you got a minute?
Birkoff doesn't even look up from his computer.
Birkoff: No, not really.
Walter: We want to tell you
something.
Birkoff: It has to wait?
Walter: We are getting married. I
asked her last night. She accepted right away. Oh, Ok, don't
congratulate us or anything, it's all right.
Birkoff: Congratulation. I am
sorry, I'm just surprised.
Walter: Yeah, me too. But you
gotta get lucky sometimes.
Birkoff: When is the big day?
Belinda: Tomorrow.
Walter: Yeah, I have to hurry,
cause she might get back to her senses.
Belinda: That'll never
happen.
Walter: We just wanted you to
know.
Birkoff: Thanks,
congratulations.
Walter: See you later.
As Walter and Belinda leave, Birkoff's face changes from smile to
worry.
BAR
Nikita is in a bar waiting for a meeting with Formitz. One of the
mystery twins is at the bar. A guy next to him tries to grab
Nikita.
Guy: Hey, mind a turn. (Nikita
pushes him away) Aah.
Nikita: Back off.
Guy: Ok.
She notices a guy bothering two prostitutes, a blonde and a
dark-haired one. He's holding the blonde against the wall.
Pimp: You go back when I tell
you!
Blonde: I'm sick!
Pimp: I decide when you're
sick!
He slaps her and she cries.
Pimp: You use to talk back, huh?
Go change now.
Nikita: Excuse me.
She punches him and he falls. He gets out a knife but Nikita disarms
and beats him.
Nikita: You get out. Don't come
back.
The guy leaves and Nikita gets back to the prostitutes.
Nikita: Are you two all right?
Blonde: (sighs) It's just
gonna be worse when he comes back.
Nikita: He won't come back.
Dark-haired: Thanks.
They both leave. Formitz shows up.
Nikita: Formitz?
Formitz: You're my contact.
Nikita: That's right.
Formitz: You just took off that
pimp. Well idiot, the idea is to maintain a low profile. This is not
gonna work. I'm out of here.
He starts to move away. Nikita grabs his arm and pulls him back.
Nikita: Sit down.
Formitz: Let go of me.
Nikita lets go of his arm.
Nikita: If you don't sit down, I'm
gonna make a scene that will make you the highest profile in this
neighborhood. (slowly) S-i-t d-o-w-n.
She sits at a table.
Formitz: Fine, but from now on we
tend to our business and let other people tend to their own. (he
sits down)
Nikita: You do business with
Bright Star.
Formitz: Yeah.
Nikita: We want copies of all ids
and credentials you provide them with.
Formitz: Not the way it
works. Halaire's man calls me, tells me where to meet, I bring blanc
recipients of pictures, he barges, I make the ids, he takes them when
I'm done. There are no copies. Except up here. (shoes his own
head)
The two prostitutes are with another man who laughs. Formitz notices
them.
Nikita: I need names and
descriptions.
Formitz: What if I...
Nikita: Give me your bank account
information, you'll have the money within the hour.
Formitz: Huh, just like that, ha?
Oh, of course, if I'm lying I'll never get a chance to spend it, will
I?
He seems distracted by the prostitutes who at this point leave the bar
with the guy.
Nikita: Names?
Formitz: I only have one so far,
Ahmed Mujani, poses as a journalist.
Nikita: Going where?
Formitz: First stop, Beirut, after
that, I don't know.
Nikita: When?
Formitz: He didn't say, but I got
the impression very soon.
Nikita leaves.
Formitz: (to her back) See
you again.
SYSTEMS
Birkoff is pulling up a profile on his screen. The screen shows
Beirut, Berlin, Hamburg, and some info under each of them.
Birkoff: Ahmed Mujani. Formitz
says he's the bomber.
Operations: Where is he?
Brikoff: From Beirut he went to
Berlin, then to Hamburg (the screen now shows some hotel
information). He checked into the Milo Hotel last night.
Operations: Cross-ref the hotel
with potential targets.
Birkoff: 3 blocks from the
International Trade Center.
Operations: I'll assemble a team,
you prepare the tactical.
MISSION - HAMBURG
A big glass building with some flags reflected in the glass. Michael
is on some external stairs.
Michael: Nikita, status.
Nikita: (below) The
delegates are all inside, there's over a hundred in the one room.
Michael: They've been
screened. He'll come from up here.
Michael is watching the people passing in front of the building.
Birkoff: Michael, report.
Michael: The security team hasn't
seen him.
Birkoff: He could be
disguised.
Michael: We're aware of that.
Nikita notices an old lady moving along painfully, her back arched,
carrying a big cart.
Nikita: Greg, check out the old
lady with the shopping bag.
Greg: I'm on it.
Greg approaches the old lady.
Greg: Excuse me, mam.
It turns out to be Mujani who gets out a gun and shots Greg, then runs
away.
Nikita: Got the target.
Nikita starts running after him, Michael does the same. Mujani runs
across a street and collides against a car, but manages to get up
again. He gets inside a bus depot with several people inside and
closes the door with some wire. He opens his coat and shows his chest
full of explosives to the people that start screaming. Michael and
Nikita arrive in time to see the explosion.
Michael: Let's go.
SECTION
Birkoff catches up with Nikita in Systems as she comes back from the
mission.
Birkoff: Nikita.
Nikita: What's up?
Birkoff: Walter and Belinda are
getting married.
Nikita: That's great!
Birkoff: No, it's not
great. Belinda's in abeyance. She's scheduled for the Rio
mission. There's no way she's coming back.
Nikita: Was there anything that
you can do?
Birkoff: I took her off abeyance
once before. Operations found out. Do you think I should tell
Walter?
Nikita is sad and concerned about it.
Nikita: (shakes her head)
There's no point. Just let them be happy as long as they can. Look,
I'm gonna meet Formitz, you'll be on comm. Take down the names, ok?
(Birkoff is not answering) Ok?
Birkoff: Yeah, ok.
OPERATIONS' OFFICE
Walter is shown on a screen working on a bomb.
Walter: The bomb came from
cannibalized landmines, as we expected.
Operations: What about the
detonator?
Walter: It's another dead end, a
garden variety, could have come from a thousand sources.
Operations: (turns to
Michael) Did the bomber go into the bus depot as an evasive
maneuver? Or was that his intended destination?
Michael: It was his intended
destination.
Operations: You sure?
Michael: It was my impression
during the mission and the tapes confirmed it.
Operations: Then we're facing an
extreme situation. They're targeting innocent people in public
places. Anywhere, anytime. Formitz is the key, more than ever. He and
Nikita are getting along?
Michael: Not enough. She's meeting
him again this afternoon.
Operations: Good. Keep me
informed.
BAR
Nikita is on a banc, looking upset.
Nikita: Birkoff, he's not
here.
Birkoff: He'll show. He was late
last time too, remember?
Nikita: (looks at her
watch) Ok, it's over now. This guy needs to learn some
manners. What's his address?
Birkoff: He said to stay clear of
his home.
Nikita: Birkoff, give me his
address.
Birkoff: 3301 Van Der Veil.
Nikita sees the dark-haired prostitute from the last time, Danielle,
alone. She goes to talk to her.
Nikita: Hey.
Danielle: Uh, hey.
Nikita: What's up?
Danielle: Nothing. Uh, Erika, the
girl I was with before, I can't find her. She never stays with a
trip. That's one of her rules. And she wouldn't break it. Especially
with what's been happening.
Nikita: What's been happening?
Danielle: Girls have been
disappearing, and they find them all...
Nikita: Murdered?
Danielle: Mutilated. I mean, she
should have been home hours ago. And she's my friend.
Nikita: What's your name?
Danielle: Danielle.
Nikita: Listen, Danielle, I'm sure
Erika is gonna show up. (caresses her cheek) Right? It's gonna
be all right.
FORMITZ'S HOME
Formitz is eating when there's a knock on the door, insisting. Only
part of the room is shown. He hesitates to open the door. There are
two shots at the lock and Nikita pushes the door open. The room they
are in now is full of photographs of faces, especially eyes. There's
also a photo impression machine on a table, it looks like a photo
lab.
Formitz: What the hell is
this?
Nikita: Where have you been?
Formitz: Occupied! You're not
supposed to come to my house.
Nikita: (pushes him against a
wall) Yesterday I saw 40 people die. Some of them were children. I
don't wanna see that again, understand?
Formitz: You know, I lost track of
time.
Nikita: What will be the lie next
time?
Formitz: Who pays for my lock?
Nikita: You do. Had a meeting with
the league last night?
Formitz: Yeah.
Nikita: Names?
Formitz: 3. I wrote them down
yesterday
Nikita: When's your next
meeting?
Formitz: They'll call.
Nikita: You let me know.
She's about to leave when she notices a red scarf hanging on a
lamp.
Nikita: Where did you find
this?
Formitz: That's my sister's.
Nikita remembers Erika wearing the scarf in the bar the night
before.
Nikita: You're lying. It belongs
to a girl called Erika. She was in the bar last night.
Formitz: So what?
Nikita: So, she's missing.
Formitz: Missing, what does that
mean?
Nikita: Why don't you tell me?
Where is she?
Formitz: I'm the only contact you
have with Bright Star. Without me you can't stop them.
Nikita: (really close now)
Where's Erika?
Formitz: You wanna see her?
Nikita: (nods) Yeah.
Formitz: Sure. Why not? Come on,
you can say hi.
With a small smile, he takes her through a closed door, to a dark
room. He turn on a screen with some X-ray photos. A body is hanging
from the ceiling, in the dark. He turns on a lamp and lightens the
body. Nikita looks at it with horror.
Formitz: That's not super casual,
I spend a long time selecting them. It's like I know them. It means
something, you know.
Nikita looses it and beats the guy up. The scene ends with a close-up
on a tray full of surgical tools.
MADELINE'S OFFICE
Nikita: Why didn't you tell me?
Madeline: He's a very frightened
man. Murder gives him a feeling of being in control.
Nikita: (tears in her eyes)
I know Section makes compromises, but he's Jack the Reaper.
Madeline: We need him.
Nikita: Shall I tell you what he
does?
Madeline: That won't be
necessary. It's simple arithmetic. We sacrifice a few lives to save
hundreds. Stay focused on the mission. Try remembering the faces of
the people at the bus depot, just before the explosion.
Nikita leaves the office in tears and crosses Michael along the
hall.
Nikita: Michael, did you know
about Formitz?
Michael: He just contacted us, you
beat the hell out of him.
Nikita: I can't go back there. If
I do, I will kill him.
Michael: (moves closer) You
*will* got back. You will *not* kill him.
FORMITZ'S HOME
Nikita reluctantly arrives at Formitz' home. Formitz is sporting a
lovely bruise on his cheek courtesy of Nikita.
Nikita: I want to apologize for
what I did. I'm sorry, the body was just a little bit of a
shock. (hands him an envelope) I believe you collect
stamps.
Formitz: Perfect, you believe,
very nice. Come in. I was right, wasn't I? Doesn't matter what I do,
you need me. I can't believe how great I fell, having someone to tell
to makes it even better.
Nikita: I don't wanna hear it.
Formitz: I've already picked the
next girl, is that friend of Erika's, the young one.
Nikita: You leave her alone.
Formitz: No, I've already
decided. I've dreamed about it from the first time I saw them
together. Now I'm doing it.
Nikita: Don't you touch her.
Formitz: Or what?
SYSTEMS
Belinda comes to see Birkoff.
Birkoff: Rio team leaves in a
couple of minutes.
Belinda: I would like you to give
Walter a message for me.
Birkoff: Give it to him yourself
when you get back.
Belinda: You know I'm not coming
back.
Birkoff is shocked, not at the fact that Belinda is not coming back,
but rather that Belinda knows she is not coming back.
Belinda: Tell him he's the best
man I've ever known. I love him. It's not such a bad thing to die on
the happiest day of your life. Will you tell him that for me?
Birkoff: Sure.
Belinda: Thanks.
BAR
Danielle sits on a banc, waiting for a client. Formitz comes to her,
smiles.
Formitz: 200 bucks for an
hour. You ever made that much before?
Danielle: Sure.
Formitz: Liar. Let's go.
Nikita intercepts him and twists his arm behind the back.
Formitz: Hey, hey, hey, wow, hey,
look, are you sure about this? Have you thought it through?
Nikita: Put your hands on her
again, and I'll kill you. Get lost.
Formitz: Ok. Ok, ok, ok.
He leaves. Nikita turns to Danielle.
Danielle: What do you think you're
doing? He was going to pay me 200 bucks.
Nikita: Erika's dead.
Danielle: No. Was she...
Nikita: She was murdered by the
man you were just talking to.
Danielle: No. You're a cop.
Nikita: No, I'm not.
Danielle: But you're gonna go to
the cops.
Nikita: No, I can't.
Danielle: Why not?
Nikita: Because, I just
can't. Let's just get your thing and go. Come.
Danielle: Where?
Nikita: Some place safe. Just get
your things and come.
Danielle: No, I need to work.
Nikita: Not tonight, you won't.
Danielle: No, I'll stay away from
him... What're you doing?
Nikita: He'll find you, he'll
track you down. He'll torture you and then he's gonna kill you. Do you
understand?
Danielle: Yes, you're scaring
me.
Nikita: Good. Get your things.
Danielle: I don't even know your
name.
Nikita: It's Nikita, let's go.
Nikita checks Danielle into a motel room. She checks the room.
Nikita: You'll be ok here.
Danielle: How long am I supposed
to stay here?
Nikita: I don't know. Until I say
you can go out again. If you need money, I'll get you some.
Danielle: (angry) Who are
you?
Nikita: Do you have some place to
go?
Danielle: No, I don't.
Nikita: Parents?
Danielle: Rather die than go back
to them, ok? I mean it.
Nikita: All right. I'll let you
choose. But Danielle, if you leave this room, you will die. You
understand that?
Danielle nods.
Nikita: I'll get back as soon as I
can. Promise me you won't leave until then?
Danielle: Yeah, I promise.
Nikita: Lock the door after I'm
gone.
Danielle nods again.
MICHAEL'S OFFICE
Nikita: No mission?
Michael: No.
Nikita: What you called me in
for?
Michael: Where were you?
Nikita: No place in particular.
Michael: Formitz' last intel was
accurate. One of the team in Prague was able to prevent the
bombing.
Nikita: Good.
Michael: We took the bomber alive,
it's a woman.
Nikita: She might lead us directly
to Halaire, we might not need Formitz any more.
Michael: I thought you'd like to
know.
Nikita: Thanks.
Nikita waits for Madeline outside of the torture chamber. Madeline
comes out.
Nikita: She broke?
Madeline: No. And she won't.
WHITE ROOM
Nikita: It hasn't been that
long. How can you be sure?
Madeline: I'm sure.
Nikita: Well, maybe if we went off
for a little while and let her remember what it was not to feel pain,
then suddenly hit her with it.
Madeline: It won't work.
Nikita: Can I at least try?
Madeline nods, with an indulgent smile. Left alone, Nikita goes
inside. She opens the brackets that hold the woman to the chair.
Nikita: We're finished. Let's
go.
Woman: Where?
Nikita: To your cell.
Woman: Tsk. I'll stay here.
Nikita: I said we're finished.
Woman: I had a son. He was 3 when
they came to my house and murdered him and my husband. I no longer
fell pain and I do not fear death. (she spits) You'll give me
comfort, then begin again, worse than before. What will you do, break
every bone in my body?
She starts breaking her own finger, demonstratively.
Woman: What else do you wish to
break? I'll save you the trouble.
SYSTEMS
Michael, Madeline and Operations are planning the upcoming
mission.
Operations: An embassy in Vienna,
an airport in Istanbul, another in Bucharest, all within the last 4
days.
Madeline: Bright Star?
Operations: They're picking up the
pace. We cant just intercept the bombers, we got to get to Halaire
himself. What of our prisoner?
Madeline: She's very unlikely to
crack.
Operations: If we have to use
Formitz, we have to do it quickly. They're starting to use other
forgers. They may not need him much longer.
Madeline: We'll have him set up a
meeting with Halaire some place we can access.
Michael: Formitz will be extremely
reluctant to take that kind of risk.
Operations: Nikita will have to
persuade him. Is that a problem?
Michael: The relation between
Formitz and Nikita is not without difficulties.
Operations: Why is that?
Madeline: She's become aware of
his habit.
Operations: She has a job to do. I
would hate to feel that she's regressing, becoming sentimental
again.
Michael: She's not.
Operations: Then can she or can
she not persuade Formitz to meet with Halaire?
Michael: I'll go along.
Michael leaves.
Operations: We need a contingence
plan.
Madeline: I agree.
Operations: Any ideas?
Madeline: One or two.
BAR
Formitz is waiting for Nikita, writing something down on his
pad. Michaela nd Nikita show up.
Formitz: Your boyfriend?
Nikita: Colleague.
Formitz: Three's a crowd.
Nikita: Deal with it.
Michael: When's your next contact
with Halaire?
Formitz: Like I told you, he tells
me at the last minute when to meet with him.
Michael: Next time will be
different. You'll set the terms.
Formitz: Will never happen.
Michael: You tell him you know the
name of a traitor inside his organization.
Formitz: Do I?
Michael: One will be provided.
Formitz: Still risky. He'll be
heavily guarded.
Michael: We can deal with
that. You set the meeting, we'll triple your fee.
Formitz: And provide sanctuary
afterwards.
Michael: Of course.
Formitz: Now, I will need certain
other things as well. (looks at Nikita)
Michael: Such as?
Formitz: She knows.
Nikita: Forget it.
Formitz: (to Michael) I'll
give you an hour to figure it out.
Section will triple Formitz's fee if he sets up a meeting with
Halaire. Formitz agrees, *if* he gets also gets something else.
Nikita realized what he is talking about right away. "Forget it."
Formitz: I will give you're an
hour to talk it over.
SECTION
Michael and Nikita are coming back from the meeting.
Michael: He wants the girl. He
won't cooperate without her. Where is she?
Nikita: I don't know. Michael,
find another way. Pay him more money, threaten him.
Michael: He's unstable as it
is. Threats might spin him out of control.
Nikita: Even if I knew where
Danielle is, I wouldn't give her to that monster.
Michael: I haven't said you
should.
Nikita: That's what you're
thinking. You're gonna tell me to remember those people at the bus
depot.
Michael: Do you?
He looks straight into her eyes, compelling, then leaves.
Madeline: Nikita. Good news, the
prisoner cooperated after all. Gave us a way to Halaire.
Nikita: But I saw her, she was
breaking her own bones.
Madeline: (all smile) You
should have had more faith in your own suggestion. We gave her rest,
then brought her back in. It worked.
Nikita: So, there's no need for
Formitz?
Madeline: Apparently not.
Operations: Halaire will be
meeting a carrier at 600, an Arab market in Berlin. Detect the
carrier, follow him back to Halaire. You will remain in Section to
assist Birkoff with tactical. Any other questions?
Nikita seems doubtful, all this sounds too good, plus she was rather
expecting to have to go on the mission herself.
SYSTEMS
Birkoff: Nikita, come with
me.
Nikita: Birkoff, the mission
...
Birkoff: Walter just found out
Belinda's dead.
Nikita: What?
MUNITIONS
Walter is chambering bullets into a gun.
Birkoff: Walter, you are scaring
me.
Walter pushes him out of the way.
Nikita: Walter, what are you
doing?
Walter: It's what he asked for,
he's gonna get it.
Nikita: Not going to shoot
Operations?
Walter: Right between the
eyes. Get out of my way!
Nikita slams Walter into the wall.
Nikita: I am sorry Belinda's
dead. I am sorrier more than I can say. But how many times have you
told me not to take Section personally?
Walter: I don't care what I told
you!
Nikita: It's pointless. They'll
kill you, too.
Walter: I don't care.
Nikita: Well, I do! And so does
Birkoff, and so do a lot of other people here. We need you, Walter. I
need you. What would Belinda tell you to do? Just tell you to throw
your life away? Or stay with the people that need you?
Walter: (starts crying)
It's not fair. It's not fair.
Nikita: Let her go, Walter. And go
on. That's what she would want.
Operations arrives.
Operations: Walter. What's
happening here?
Nikita slips the gun from Walter's hand into her jacket.
Nikita: Nothing. We're just
talking.
Operations: You and Birkoff should
be at the terminals.
Nikita: I know, we're going
now.
Nikita and Birkoff leave.
Operations: I'm sorry about
Belinda.
Walter looks like he's about to kill Operations.
MISSION
Birkoff: The courier should arrive
in a great Sedan.
Michael is outside, in front of a building.
Michael: There he is.
A hooded guy gets out of a car.
Michael: He's on foot, entering
the square.
Birkoff: Team 1, tag him.
Nikita: Courier has been
tagged.
Birkoff can follow him now on a map on his computer.
Birkoff: He's headed towards the
northeast corner.
Michael is following him. His glasses contain the camera that Birkoff
and Nikita are watching the feed from.
The courier arrives at the meeting place. Halaire is there with two
bodyguards.
Halaire: Hello, my friend. What do
you have for me today?
Halaire notices Michael, calmly entering the scene. Michael takes two
guns out and shoots the bodyguards. Two other operatives grab Halaire
and carry him away.
Michael: We've got
Halaire. Perimeter status.
Nikita: Perimeter's clear.
The hooded man turns around and to Nikita's shock, it is Formitz.
Michael: You can go.
Nikita throws down her com. unit, and runs out of Section. She arrives
at the motel, only to find Danielle long gone.
MICHAEL'S OFFICE
Nikita stares out Michael's office window. Michael turns on the
scrambler, so nobody can hear or see what they are talking about via
camera.
Nikita: Why was Formitz at the
meet?
Michael: The original courier was
detained. We substituted with Formitz, a face Halaire would
trust.
Nikita: Why did he agree to help?
Michael: More money.
Nikita: No, Section found Danielle
and gave her to him.
Michael: He knows his way around,
perhaps he found her himself.
Nikita: You called me in, told me
about the prisoner, while I interrogated her, Section was out looking
for Danielle. Isn't that right?
Michael: No.
Nikita: Madeline lied when she
told me the prisoner broke.
Michael: Madeline wouldn't bother
to lie.
Nikita: She might, keep that
mission running smoothly. I want the truth, Michael. Did Section give
Danielle to Formitz?
Michael: No.
He's obviously lying, knowing she wouldn't believe him. He could have
done it on purpose to show her that Formitz was the courier, so she
could have her revenge. Or it could be another attempt to break
her.
FORMITZ'S HOME
Formitz is coming home and notices someone.
Formitz: What are you doing
here?
As Asiatic woman is waiting for him.
Woman: Halaire was taken.
Formitz: My God, who took him?
Woman: You know.
Formitz: I don't. How would I
know?
Woman: Because you betrayed
him.
Formitz: Are you crazy?
Woman: We have names, dates.
She gets a gun out.
Formitz: They made me do it.
She kills Formitz without blinking.
SECTION
Nikita is at a computer. Michael comes by. She looks guilty of
something when she sees him, but tries to look casual, as if nothing's
going on.
Michael: Formitz is dead.
Nikita: Can't say I'm too sorry
about that.
Michael: You don't seem to be
surprised.
Nikita: Dangerous line of work
he's in.
Michael: His death compromises our
ability to deal with the remnants of Halaire's organization.
Nikita: We'll just have to find
some other way.
She smiles at him, confident. She's getting good at his game.
Michael: This is important,
Nikita. I want the truth. Did you give him up?
Nikita: (innocently)
No.
