A Season’s Quest
A sudden gasp, the leaves must hush
As the sun peeks behind the clouds to a winter’s blush
A lover’s heart melts at every memory she brings
Hear a nightingale as it whistles a cacophony of spring
An invincible summer sun stokes the embers of autumn’s flames
As the crescent moon rises, it shines on the ocean’s crest
The tide’s ebb and fall to the sand dunes’ manifest
Rings of an aged oak remember the years
The cries of laughter and hope, the sobs of bitter tears
Seasons mark the remembrances of our loved ones
Solemn promises of man may disappear
As a storm soaks the very fiber of our being
It cleanses our palettes
signifying rebirth year after year,
such is the evolution of time, oh precious time
In the seasons’ quest for perfection
Flawlessly it marches on and gives our paths direction.
