No Escape
Several years have past since Michael and Nitika made their last departure from Section One.
They have managed to find some continment with the now "normal" life their leading Nestled in
a small town on a very lonely island off the coast of Laurel Bay, basking in the sunshine
living from the money they managed to have when they left.
Michael enters a beautiful old home, walking quickly to Nikita, he stops to looks at her, not wanting to say w hat he knows he has too.
"Nikita, I have something to tell you, speaks Michael quietly." Nikita, looks up from her computer, "what is it Michael"? "There have been several strangers coming ashore on the island in the last two weeks, my source tells me they cannot be identified." Michael looks around, "where is Ariel?" "she's with her nanny at the beach." "we need to go get her, she needs to stay within confines of the house until we find out more about these strangers."
Immediately Nikita gets up and leaves to find them. Walking along the guarded path, Nikita wonders if they will ever be truely free......her memories of past times tend to make her frightened, not because of her and Michael but because of Ariel, the beautiful, wild, strongminded daughter that she and Michael have been so blessed with. Almost four, Ariel is showing so much spirit and her mind is always inquiring into anything and everthing in her sight. Nikita approaches Ariel and her nanny, watching them through the trees she see's the nanny talking to a stanger. The nanny seems to be in deep conversation, Nikita watches but is too far aw ay to hear what is being said. Nanny is pointing to the house and then to Ariel. Who is this person and how does he know nanny?
Nikita waits, the man turns and leaves, walking very slowly, talking to someone on a transmitter.
Nikita stays in the trees a few minutes, until the stranger is out of sight, she makes herself known to Ariel and Nanny, putting on a smile
she walks to them, "Ariel, it's time for you to start home .....Nanny looks up, "it's really early Nikita", "Ariel, Michael and I are planning something special and you'll be having the afternoon off "nanny".....let's all go home and we'll tell you more about it so you can plan your day.
As they approach the house Michael is waiting for them at the doorway. "Nanny, will you take Ariel upstairs to her room, change her clothes and we'll be up in a few to get her?" As they go into the house, Nikita turns to Michael and tells him she needs to talk with him but they need to stay outside the house to make sure no one else can hear the conversation. Nikita explains to Michael what she saw, the actions of Nanny and that she could not hear what was being said. Michael studies the situation and turns to Nikita.........."I believe that Nanny is part of this operation, I think whoever this is has come to kidnap Ariel so that we'll follow and they will catch us." "We need to have a "talk with Nanny........see what she knows and if she actually knows these strangers"
Turning and starting up the staircase, Nikita and Michael checked to see the whereabouts of Nanny. They soon found her in Ariel's room about to leave as the child had fallen asleep. Nikita speaks, "Nanny, we have some questions for you, will you come to our den?" As they enter Michael is there waiting. "We need to know what is going on, with you and the person you were talking to on the beach". Startled Nanny looks quickly to Michael and then Nikita. "I don't know the man, he approached me while i was with Ariel." "We don't believe you," Michael speaks softly, rising from the chair......"sit down and tell us everything that's happened." Nanny starts to cry, "the stranger, he's been everywhere I go, stricking up conversations, asking me questions about you, your family, how long you've been here and where you live." "I've tried to avoid him but I can't go anywhere without seeing him, watching and talking to me or to others."
Michael turns, looks at Nikita, "it's time Nikita, go get Ariel, we're leaving." Nikita looks at Michael, a slight tear in her eye,
as she slowy turns to leave the room.
As the plane leaves to a new, secret place.........Nikita looks from the window.....where will it be this time. How long can they manage to have more freedom? Maybe, just maybe, this time they will have a few more precious months or even years to have a life together, Michael, Ariel and Nikita...................
Nanny watches the plane, a slight smile crosses her lips, is it because they've made a clean leaving or does she know something else.........she turns to leave, there is a man is waiting a few feet from her, to pick her up or to kill her, do we really know?
