Vickie's Mira 2004 Debrief
THURSDAY June 10, 2004 My day started with me bright eyes and not bushy
tails I had been up since before 4am wednesday morning was to wired to sleep
wed nite. Off to the airport I go at 3:40 a.m. had to be there at 4a.m...Borded
plane at 5:45am Up up and away we go at 6:05am landed in Cincinnati at 6:40
where it was raining after walking around the airport for about 30 minutes I was
tired sat down kept looking around for Dana and not seeing her I was beginning
to get worried but last but not least there she was coming out of the lil gals room
as I was going in heheh that was about 8:45 am it was so nice finally meeting her
and we had big smiles on our faces cause we were going to see ROY...LOL
We borded plane and I asked the dude sitting with Dana if he wanted to switch
seats with me so we did get to sit together plane took off at 10:05 I slept most of
the way there. Arrived in Montreal at 11:40 am and after walking to customs well
I was tired and needed FOOD to get my energy going so we sat down and had a
bite to eat as we waited for Jan's flight to arrive.
Off we go to meet up with Jan her flight arrived at 1:25 we all yipped and hugged
each other talking a mile a minute, Now the fun starts trying to find a way to get
to the hotel so after finding that out off we go again to a bus which we had to get
2 of those and a cab that took us to the hotel well what a long ride that was we
didn't get to the hotel till after 5pm. But the ride did give us time to rest up of
course I slept on the bus,,, well I was a bit wipped out.
So when we did get to the hotel and check in, we started seeing other attendees
and it was nice putting names to faces I guess around 8pm we were getting a bit
hungry and walked over to a Tim Hortons replinished and back to the hotel we go
after hanging out and meeting other guest we met up with Cyn, Warren,Chrissy &
Brenda and we joined them in the bar at the hotel for drinks..I did get a bit tipsy
but not DRUNK. We went to our room about 12:30. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
FRiDAY June 11, 2004 im up and about at 5:30 am yikes, Dana and Jan were
not early risers...LOL Off to registration we go after that was done we had break-
fast at the hotel....Then we went to the Mira Auction I did manage to win the
painting Dana did of Roy from Seraphin after the auction was over with we went
back to room to get changed for the Defi-Vision Race and off to the buses we go
the ride wasn't to long THANK GAWD.
Arriving at the race we sat on bus till Dennycame and got us and then the walk to the stadium was short, I was
glad since I wore shoes that were killin my feet, Oh yeah and I got all dressed up
didn't want to get a pic taken with ROY looking like a hagbag,,,Well I will never
do that again I ate more dirt than I wanted to, got it in my eyes, hair, clothes and
then after that wiff of cow shit go going I was a total mess, But I loved the cars
zooming by us me and Jan would hide our faces in a bag to keep the dust from
getting in our eyes. I was freezin my ass off since I only had a thin sweater with
me, here sat Jan in a really short sleeve top just like it was 90's degrees out there.
We got our iD badges finally and when the drawing was done Kristen (KG) won
the raffle to start the Mira Race....Denny came and got us to take us thru the
tunnel to meet ROY,,,Well oh shit was that steep or what im surprised I made it
down without falling on my ass. After walking in MUD I finally got close enough to
see ROYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
He was wearing a beige hat, yellow shirt, black jeans and looking handsomer as
ever THUDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
I fought my way thru the crowd YEAH and then after seeing Roy talking, signing
autographs and taking pics with fans MOSTLY WOMEN it was my turn, well I was
not nervous, calm as a cucumber I walked up to him and shook his hand,,THUMP
I said hi Roy its nice to meet you...He said something to me well hell with all the
noise from the cars going around the track I didn't hear him BAD ME..im standing
there and thank gawd not with my mouth open staring at him I called Jan to get in
the pic with me poor girl she was rooted in that spot and couldn't move a muscle
hehehe Well then Dana came up and when ROY put his arm around my shoulder
I was a goner from then I don't know what went on then I put my left arm around his
waist and oh I could feel his body heat he was so nice and firm,,THUDDDDDDDDD
I don't think I tried to sniff him, hehe Well we finally got Jan rooted from her spot and
Joyce got a pic with us 3 and ROY SWOONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN
Oh yeah Jan was so struck when she took the pic of Dana and me with ROY low and
behold I was cut out of the damn pic you can see a lil of my hair tho,,,heheh we had
a good laugh over that booboo...I think Joyce got it tho I HOPE.......Well after that i
got to the side and watched everyone else take pics with Roy and I got some but
that damn bodyguard kept interferring with my view arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
We were told it was time to go back to the stands and so off we go to watch ROY
in car number 23 Echos Vedettes we screamed whenever it came by us, it was so
funny with all the bang ups but Roy and Clank did survive with some hits and did
finish the race in 8th place , thats what we heard. After the the Mira race we got back
on the bus headed to a hotel where the party was held,,,,I saw Roy first he had some
food or something on a plate and a drink in his hand coke I think not sure,,Then i
told Jan and Dana he was coming in the room where we were, Our table was the
closest to him and was his first stop,,THUMPPPPPPPPPPPPP he sat in the chair
right next to me, I think I said something silly like hi Roy we saved you a seat hehe
after talking with him I couldn't hear what he said the damn noise was terrible then i
do remember saying I had something for him to sign and he asked me if I wanted him
to personalize my t-shirt well im in a fog about then and I think my brain stopped
functioning I could only shake my head and he asked my name well I couldn't even
think what it was and just reached down and showed him my iD badge and he signed
my shirt and one for a friend his eyes were so beautiful and I didn't do something
stupid like grab him, awe that was self control I tell ya. Oh yeah I did give him a
sharpie to sign my t-shirts with and im gonna have that baby FRAMED it will not
leave the house again unprotected. LOL.......Oh he has beautiful hands to, all of
him was beautiful I think. Jan and Dana talked with him and the other ladies at our
table one poor lady couldn't speak with him she was so overwhelmed I thought she
was gonna faint on spot,, hehe After Jan got a pic with him and Jan got Dana in a
pic I think Dana took one of me with him SWOONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN
I think he was at our table for about 40 minutes that damn bodyguard kept holding
up 2 fingers letting him know it was time to go but he just kept on talking and moved
when he got ready he left his cigarettes and lighter at our table, damn I wanted to
keep those but we were nice enough to return them to him...He didn't smoke at our
table either. By the time he got around to all the tables and finished it was 3:00am
and we stood up and clapped as he was leaving with a gift bag and a box he had a
big smile on his face...We left about 3:15 and on the bus we go, we got back to the
hotel at 3:45 am I was so freakin dirty I could not go to bed till had cleaned up all
that freakin dirt off myself I think I made it to bed about 4:31am. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
SATURDAY June 12, 2004 Dammit im up at 6:30 Dana and I attended the Cyn
BytheSea Breakfast at a restaurant across from the hotel in attendance was
Cyn, Joyce,Warren, Sandy, Dana, Brenda, Chrissy and me, We had a very good
time..After breakfast Cyn-Brenda-Chrissy and me headed to the mall across the
street after walking around for about 30 minutes we headed back to the hotel.
Time for the Mira Fondation visit Dana was tired and since she had been before
she slept while Jan and I went, I really enjoyed my visit there I wasn't gonna go
but Joyce talked me into going and im glad I did, of course we were late getting
there, I got to do the blindfolded walk with the dog that was kewl but a bit scary
not being able to see where I was going, makes me appreciate it more now that
I can see. Oh I stepped on the doggies paw and he didn't bite my ass over that
LOL......We were late leaving the Mira Fondation and when we got back to the
hotel we did see a video screening of deleted scenes from LFN till dinner time.
The Darkness Supper was fantastic I know I ate a salad and spaghetti we had
some good laughs at our table and going to the bathroom blindfolded was a
hoot I will never forget that. After the dinner was over with Denny entertained
us with his magic tricks which I enjoyed totally. Off we go to another video
screening of the pilot DARK EYES with kelly McGillis and ROY DUPUiS he
was a cop and gorgeous as ever,,I slept thur most of the film was dead tired
but I would know when Roy was on screen the ladies hooted I would wake up
see what he was doing then nod off again, I bowed out after watching Roy in
the show Win Lose Or Draw he was so young and handome, it was in french
and I got sleepier the more I watched so I went to the room>>BAD CALL I
missed some of the scenes from DOUBLE DATE-CAT AND MOUSE and who
knows what else. I do remember Dana coming in and then it was,,ZZZZZZZZZZ
time for me.
SUNDAY June 13, 2004 After having breakfast in the hotel off to the theatre
we go on foot to see Monica-la-Mitraille I really loved the movie and CB was
great in it and ROY was fantastic in it....You just have to see it to know what i
mean those that haven't yet..Some really steamy love scenes with ROY and CB
after the movie a few of us went shopping in the mall while others attended the
Closing Ceremonies of course some of us were late...WE BAD...
The Royettes get together was at 5pm so we had lots of time to do nuthin or
find something to do around the hotel naturally I got on the computer, then
about 4pm Jan-Viv and I walked to the mall where we at McDonalds, Chrissy
and Manya Brock was there so we sat and talked with them, then we headed
back to the hotel....I think about 40 people showed up for the Royette get
together and I was really nice we got to see LFN scenes that were cut, which
should have been left in MY OPiNiON only tho and saw the original HARD
LANDiNG which was better than we got if you ask me. Oh yeah finally saw
that BEYOND THE PALE scene I missed on saturday nite...that ended about
8:30 so now its time for Dana-Jan and myself to leave and go to the hotel close
to the airport it was sad leaving so after 2 bus rides and a cab we were at the
Quality Hotel around 11:45 pm. to bed we go around 1am..ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
MONDAY June 14, 2004 Dana had to leave early since her flight was at
7:30 she checked out at 5:10am so now only 2 Muskateers left me and Jan
I was like losing a sister when Dana left cause we knew soon we would be
parting ways also,,,We stayed up got our packing in order then headed to
breakfast at the hotel after that we went back to the room and had a hour nap
then off we go to the airport Jan's flight was at 2pm mine at 5:05 but I stayed
there didn't wanna be walkimg around lost after Jan left I went on and checked
in about 1:45 thank goodness K.G. and another attendee were also waiting I
stopped and talked with them and then 2 of the LFN fan foc writers showed up
and we all had some good laughs so tha passed the time, after the writers whp
were Roxanne Kean and KT I think, I hung around for a lil while then went to
check out my flight which dod not leave at 5:05 but at 6pm so after sitting in
the airport for 6 hours I was pooped....got to Cincinnati around 8pm we left there
at 9:05 I reached Charleston WV at 9:45 pm in my door at 10pm.
I had a wonderful time while I was in Canada and hope to make it next year it
was such a thrill to meet DANA-JAN-CYN-WARREN-CHRISSY-SANDY-
BRENDA-JOYCE-MANYA BROCK-KG-HACHIE-MINUET-LINDY-KIM BURNS
CYN ROBERTS-and all the others who by now I have totally forgotten there
names..Hope to see you all next year in ROYLAND.......................................
