Q1.) What do you like more to do movies, or theater?

MAURY: Movies.


Q2.) How did you prepare for your role as Rudy in La Femme Nikita? Was any research required?

MAURY: It was a feeling of elation first of all because I loved Rudy and hoped that others did and second because my uncle George Bloomfield directed that episode.I can't remember any bloopers because playing Rudy was like one continuous blooper. No research other than observation

Q3) When you won the Gemini Award for your portrayal of Rudy on La Femme Nikita, what were your feeling at that time?

MAURY: It was a feeling of elation first of all because I loved Rudy and hoped that others did and second because my uncle George Bloomfield directed that episode


Q4.) When you acted in the movie "My Cousin Vinnie" is this type of character you prefer to portray or more serious as in La Femme Nikita?

MAURY: I don't take a role unless there's something about it that I like.

Q5.) What's would you say has been your most memorable part to date be it in the movies or TV or stage work if you have ever done that?

MAURY: Desmond Howl in Whale Music,Uncle Arthur in Unstrung Heroes, and Major Famborough in Dances With Wolves.

Q6.) First off myself and my 6 yr old daughter Ashley loved you in "Harriet The Spy". I do not understand why you got unaccredited for this movie , we watched it and I noticed you right away. Can you explain it?

MAURY: I thought that I had been edited out of the movie.


Q7.) Maury, I have to ask what was it like working with a huge talent like Lynn Redgrave in the Movie "Touched"?

MAURY: Lynn was fabulous and we loved working together.

Q8.) Besides acting, did you ever have another career you wanted to peruse?


MAURY: When I was 10 I wanted to be a Caterer or a Banker.


Q9.) What place ( city or country) that you have visited, was the most memorable to you and why?

MAURY: I would have to say Thailand , simply because it is so unlike North America in every way.

Q10.) You have made so many movies, both comedies and dramas. Which were the most difficult? Why??

MAURY: Comedies are always more difficult because comedies often try too hard to be funny and often fall flat.


Q11.) What was the most difficult role you ever had to play, and how did you prepare for it?

MAURY: Hal Banks was a thug based on a real person . I viewed film of him and listened to the way he spoke and it helped.


Q12.) Is Joe Pesci as big a nut in person as he was in "My Cousin Vinnie"?

MAURY: I wouldn't call Joe a nut, but he is not totally unlike a lot of the characters he portrays.

Q13) In the film 'Entrapment' you were in a scenes but with Catherine Zeta-Jones. Is it a bit daunting meeting world-famous actors and actresses or do you become used to it and does it become another day at the office? And the character reminded me of 'Jabba The Hut' from 'Return Of The Jedi". Was this your plan?

MAURY: I have never been very daunted by anyone in my life and Catherine is one of the most undaunting people around. I have never seen Return of the Jedi.


Q14.) 'Nero Wolfe' became a quick favorite show of mine. With some of the cast playing different characters each week, was there ever times they forgot who they were supposed to be that week? Did you ever film two or more at the same time?

MAURY: You'd have to ask those actors if they forgot who they were.

Q15.) Your filmography is really impressive and I noticed that you have worked with other stars from La Femme Nikita before and after being on the show. Does this usually create a friendlier atmosphere and favor long-term friendships?

MAURY: It's always great to establish a group of actor's who you adore and work with them over and over again.


Q16.) Toronto is one of the most active theater cities in the world. Would you consider doing some theater work in the future? Is it hard to switch between filming and being on stage?

MAURY: I haven't done theatre since 1986.


Q17.) Would you have some word of wisdom for young aspiring actors?

MAURY: I have no words of wisdom at all for anyone. We all have our own journey.

MAURY: THE ADORATION.


Q19.) You have a lengthy film history, how do you decide what roles you want?

MAURY: If the role moves me or makes me laugh.

Your role of Rudy in LFN was one of the best performances on that series. Thank you for making Rudy a real person.
