CynbytheSea Interview
with Janet Kidder
( Vizcano )
The members of CynbytheSea express their sincere gratitude
for allowing us this special time with you, good luck in
your future endeavours, and thank you so much for enlightening us.
Q1.) Please what can you tell us about your audition for LFN
if there was one?
JANET:
I had been helping out the casting director with auditions and the
producer asked if I wanted to read for Vizcano. It was one of my first
auditions and I was nervous and excited.
Q2.) Did you like your rebellious character, looking back would you play it
different?
JANET:
I really liked Vizcano, she was a little lost but I don't think I
would play her any differently if I was to do it again.
Q3.) In your career, which was our favorite character?
JANET:
My favorite role to date would be 'Diana' in
"The Bride Of ChuckY". It was just so much fun, I had a great pink fluffy
outfit and I got to play with the dolls. Also I had a wonderful death.
Q4.) Did you watch LFN before or after you were in it?
JANET:
I never really watched the show before I was in it but for a little
while afterwards, I would tune in.
Q5.)If you have played Nikita, and you could choose how, would you have done
it any different?
JANET:
I think if I was Nikita I would tried to have a little more fun
sometimes. she was always very serious.

Hello, thank you for this interview.
Q6.) When you auditioned for La Femme Nikita what were some of the things
you were told about the series and did you meet the group right away?
JANET:
I wasn't told much, except of course about the character and I didn't
meet the group until I was working with them on set.
Q7.) Were there any bloopers or incidents that you would care to tell us
about while there?
JANET:
I'm sure there were many but unfortunately I cannot remember
anything, sorry.
Q8.) Several of your recent films have been very gory, did you find "La
Femme Nikita" mild in comparison or a completely different type of
storyline?
JANET:
It was more of an emotional journey, however I did get a good death
again.
Q9.) Did you enjoy being in the same episode with your Aunt, Margot Kidder?
JANET:
Very much. We have worked together a couple of times and it's always
a wonderful experience. We spent a lot of time laughing.
Q10.) Did you find the cast and crew easy to work with?
JANET:
Absolutely. I made some friends on LFN that I still have today.
Always a laugh to be had.
Q11.) Please tell us about any of your new or future endeavors?
JANET:
I have just finished the world premiere of a new American play - "The
Private Room" here in London, England and this week I finished shooting a UK
hospital drama called "Casualty".
It was a pleasure to ask you these few questions,

Thanks for taking the time for this interview.
Q12.) What was it like to come in to "La Femme Nikita" as a rival to the
Nikita/Michael relationship?
JANET:
It's exciting and interesting to play a character that causes some
friction. It's certainly not going to be boring.
Q13.) In the episode, "First Mission," your character, Vizcano dies by being
pushed off a building site. Did you have to do any special stunts for this
scene?
JANET:
Unfortunately, due to insurance reasons, I was not able to do my own
stunts, even though I was an ex gymnast and very enthusiastic to do it
myself. They brought in a professional stunt woman to do the job.
Best of Luck with all your future endeavors.
Kristen (LFNbabe) Smith - Melbourne, Australia

Q14.) For the episode First Mission where you played the character Vizcano,
in the end Nikita and you became almost friends. How did you two get along
in real life?
JANET:
We never really got to know each other outside of work.
Q15.) What other things are you interested in beside acting?
JANET: I love animals and devote a lot of my time to volunteering for
various animal welfare groups. I also love doing construction and
renovations. One
day I would like to build my own house. Reading is also one of my favorite
pastimes.
Q16.) Did you have to audition to come back in a second episode as the
young mother of Nikita?
JANET:
No, because I had previously done the show so they already knew me.
Q17.) Was it fun to play next to your aunt for the same character at
different ages in the show?
JANET:
It was wonderful. We had a great laugh. We are very close so working
together was a joy.

Q18.) Janet.......Whose idea was it for you to work with your aunt (of
course the fantastic Margo Kidder!!) playing her younger self, in "Walk on
By"?
JANET:
The producers asked me if I thought my aunt would be interested and
after talking about it she said she would love to.
Q19.) I really liked your character, Vizcano, just because she was such a
little "wretch"!! Was it a fun character (being so "evil"!!) to portray
even
though she was killed off?
JANET:
I always like to portray characters that have a dark side, I find it
very interesting.I don't know if I would call Vizcano 'evil' but she was not
an angel either.
Q20.) Who is your idol and have your worked with him/her yet?
JANET: I love William H. Macy, Seymour Phillip Hoffman and Francis
McDormand. Unfortunately I have not had the pleasure of working with any of
them yet
but fingers crossed.
Q21.) La Femme Nikita has a lot of weaponry and you got to heft quite a bit
in "First Mission".......any "horror" stories/special training you received
that you'd like to share from those encounters? I am terrified of all
weapons!
JANET:
I loved working with all the guns, of course we had a gun trainer on
site who told us how to do everything properly and safely. No horror stories
to report.
Q22.) Is there a "mountain you have yet to climb" .......a goal you have
yet to obtain? If so, what is it?
JANET:
I would like to open an animal sanctuary one day and rescue animals
that have been mistreated.
I enjoyed asking these questions of you. Thank you for giving us two such
memorable episodes of La Femme Nikita!!
Brenda Allison-Missouri - USA

Q25.) Janet, If your character, Vizcano, had not been killed off, would you
have done more episodes of LFN??
JANET:
Absolutely.
Q26.) If a director/producer offered you a major role in a series not-unlike<
Nikita, would you do it??
JANET: I would love to have an action series. I enjoy that kind of work so
much, so yes I would jump at the chance
Q27.) What other jobs/vocations do you do apart from acting when you get
the chance.
JANET:
I am very much into house restoration and renovations so when I am
not acting I like to get my hands dirty and build things.
Warren Stewart- Perth Section

Q28.) What geared your interests to acting?
JANET:
I always knew that I wanted to be an actor. It's in the blood and
spending time on the set of Superman when I was a kid definitely helped fuel
the
fire.
Q29.) What did you learn from the cast members of
"La Femme Nikita"?
JANET:
To always be specific in my choices in front of the camera.
30.) On this day, in this moment, where do you want to be

Diving off the back of a boat into crystal clear water surrounded by
all the people that I love.
