Raoul, thank you very much for consenting to be interviewed by our group CynbytheSea. It's a great pleasure to learn about you, and we wish you continued success and abright future Sir.

Q1.) Have you ever watched "La Femme Nikita" before you acted on it? If so, would you have directed an episode for LFN? Which one?


RAOUL: No, not the tv series, just the film version. If so, would you have directed an episode for LFN? Which one? I would have directed any one of them. I liked the style of the show.


Q2.) Have you ever worked before of after filming "La Femme Nikita", with any of the cast members?


RAOUL: No.


Q3.) I read you are a dancer, what kind of music do you like to dance to or teach?

RAOUL: I use all kinds depending on the commission and piece but when it is my own creation, I usually use composers and lean towards a tribal, mythical world sound. Being musical myself and a computer, sampler dj kinda creator, the music is pretty out there. For teaching, I like simple percussion.

Q4.) Can you share with us any details of your audition with "La Femme Nikita"?


RAOUL: It was so long ago and so many auditions ago, I can't remember details but I knew the South African accent and blue eyes were a good choice to make me more of an international, "where is he from anyway..."


Q5.) Can you please tell us about your Cultural History?And what is the most important lesson you have learned from it all?

RAOUL: My cultural history if I understand the context in the question is that I am a result of all that came before me consciously, bloodline, genetic memory and choice and I own it all and after a few years have learned to take full responsibility for my actions.


Q6.) You definitely have the body of a dancer,"Soloist and Master Teacher for the Nikolais Dance Theatre", quite impressive, what got you interested in it to begin with?

RAOUL: I started in the theatre playing a hose in Peter Shaefer's play "EQUUS". I knew I was born to dance and act and sometimes play the fool.


Q7.) I recently had the chance to see a Yanni concert, working with the Aboriginal Dance Project, have you ever had a chance to work with David Hudson of the Australian Aboriginal tribe who is a member of Yanni's band?


RAOUL: No.


Q8.) Your work often reflects your Spirituality,yours is very deep, what is the work you have performed that impressed you the most?


RAOUL: My continuing work into those realms. it always changes but really just gets deeper and deeper and more realized.


Q9.) Can you tell us about some of the locations thatyou have been able to travel to because of your work?

RAOUL: My favorites have been Capetown, South Africa and Costa Rica. The Arctic Aircle wasn't bad either. I've circumvented the globe once and I'm ready to do it again.


Q10.) You have an intriguing background, in the sense I want to know more, who are your influences? And whose work do you admire?


RAOUL: The great masters in painting, Baz Luhrman, Nureyev, Octavio Paz and lately, Ken Wilber, a modernAmerican philosopher. Work I admire, I think Madonna is brilliant And maybe a few more I can't think of at the moment.


Q11.) Raised in New Mexico, have you been to the Zozobra Festival held in Santa Fe?I had the ability to go two years ago, one of the most spiritual moments in my life. I was completely fascinated.

RAOUL: Sweetheart, I was raised on Zozobra and now "Burning Man" is my modern pagan ceremony once a year.

Q12.) You were born in New Mexico, I see that you now reside in Canada and the US, having lived in New Mexico, do you prefer ,the climate of your birthplace or Canada?

RAOUL: I love climate everywhere no matter what it does. I love my place in the wilderness here in NM but I love Toronto and Montreal and their winters and of course Banff is paradise lost. I love winters.


Q13.) I saw that you were in one of the "Highlander" films, did you enjoy working with the actors on that film?


RAOUL:I had a great time with Mario van Peebles and Christopher


Q14.) In "La Femme Nikita", I really enjoyed the part you played. Was there anything about your character that you would have changed if you had the chance?

RAOUL: It wasn't that kind of role to get too excited about or even keep thinking about.


Q15.) Do you find the cast and crew of LFN easy to work with?

RAOUL: It was playful and sexy.


Q16.) Is there anything in your future projects regarding your career that you would care to share with us?

RAOUL: I have an upcoming film with one of Hollywood's greats and I am seriously thrilled.You'll read about it.

Q17.) What was it like to work a scene with Nikita {Peta} having her seduce you?

RAOUL: She a hottie and very sexual and fun.


Q18.) At what time in your life did you know you wanted to be an actor? And why?

RAOUL: Always, I just did. I was meant to play and get paid for it and sometimes, I do it just for the love.

Q19.) Raoul......is it possible for a dancer like yourself to "just watch" dancing......or do you always find yourself critiquing?


RAOUL: I always appreciate what I see and appreciate it for what it is but I have a discerning eye as opposed to critical and look to fine tune if I can get my hands into it. I'm what you call a good fair witness though.


Q20.) Could you share with us the best & worst moments of your life?


RAOUL: We don't have the time here. it will be in my first film I write and direct, ok?


Q21.)Your career is extensive and varied........which "role" of the many you've played (choreographer/dancer/actor, etc.) have you truly enjoyed the most?


RAOUL: To be an artist is a privilege but a hard earned one and one I would never change for the world.


Q22.) Did you find the Nikita's ambush scene (if you recall) from "Looking for Michael" to be similar to choreography... I've read that a good fight scene (the staging of) is like a dance..would you agree? And did the thought apply to the scene or scenes from your episode?


RAOUL: It's all choreography. the camera is a partner as well as your co-stars.Thank you for taking time to speak with us.

RAOUL: I just love to act and play interesting characters.

Q25.) Do you consider yourself an actor that likes to dance or a dancer that likes to act?

RAOUL: How about a guy who likes to do it all.
